In-Home Postpartum Care

POSTPARTUM CARE ONLY: $800/ 3 visit package or $1,600/ 6 visit package

For those that had their babies in a hospital but are feeling neglected from the large gap in postpartum care, Sage Midwifery’s Postpartum Packages are the perfect way to ensure your body is healing and your baby is thriving. Many folks do not realize that Midwives are licensed and trained not only to care for pregnant and postpartum people, but also for well newborns! Each visit addresses the parent AND the baby, honoring the parent-child dyad during the fourth trimester. An in-home postpartum visit with Sage Midwifery typically includes:

• Assessment of vitals for the postpartum person

• Assessment of uterine healing, wound healing (for vaginal repairs or cesarean births), and breast health

• Collection of any labs if necessary (blood work or urine)

• Postpartum nutrition counseling

• Lactation/infant feeding counseling

• Infant sleep counseling

• Assessment of newborn vitals and weight gain

• Discussions and education to equip parents for the challenges of the postpartum period including:

  • parenting older siblings with a newborn

  • parent sleep (or lack thereof!)

  • postpartum mood changes

  • babywearing

  • sex and intimacy

  • returning to work

  • family planning options
